Emerging Professional Project Tour: SFO Terminal 1

CMAA is excited to support a special group dedicated to our early career professionals  interested in learning about the various aspects of Construction Management. Emerging Professional events and tours are designed to offer a mix of professional development and networking opportunities among emerging leaders in the construction and design industry. Members of this group are likely to stand out in their organization and be interested in continual development.

Austin Webcor JV is currently constructing the San Francisco International Airport Terminal 1 Boarding Area B Redevelopment, a six year, design-build project. The upgraded T1 will feature new secure connectors linking Boarding Area A through Boarding Area D, and a unique customs secure connector between Boarding Area B and the International Terminal. In addition, the airfield layout will be reconfigured to allow for more flexibility and greater international flight capacity serving up to 25 gates for both domestic and international travelers.

The BAB project is set to be one of the largest boarding areas on the SFO campus, totaling 619,150 square feet. It will offer a galleria-type retail experience at the entrance to the path through the building and unique artwork by several local artists. The open gate lounges will flow with the surrounding dining halls and museums. There will be a children's play area integrated into a central lounge at the end of the pier. A mezzanine level is set to house airline clubs and an international connections corridor with views into the concourse and retail areas.

This event will kick off with a project presentation, followed by a project tour. PPE is required for the tour. A networking mixer will be followed after the tour at Samovar (International Terminal). Drinks and light appetizers will be included. Register below before tickets run out (tour will be limited to 15)!
